HIS EVALUATION OF OTHER ARTISTS
Anatole France (1844-1924)
"I am not of the same opinion with you about Anatole France. Anatole France has faults: these are, the fact that on occasion he escapes into an ironic pessimism and hopelessness; and sometimes he attaches importance to ornamentation and make-up. But in general Anatole France is one of the highest hills in world literature. Despite everything, he believed that the human being would be winner sooner or later¾but this belief did not help him avoid going into a number of strange perversions. Also, he struggled against those social classes that were liars, cheaters and religious fanatics."
